Abstract submission


We welcome research abstracts communicating research within all aspects of Animal Laboratory Diagnostics.
Submissions will be assessed for possible presentation at the ISACP 2018 meeting as either Oral presentation or Poster presentation.

Instructions for abstract authors

To facilitate publication of the accepted abstracts at the ISACP 2018 meeting in the Veterinary Clinical Pathology journal, the following guidelines should be adhered to:

  1. Abstract should be 250 words or less (excluding title, author names and affiliations). Any abstract exceeding the allowable word count will be either edited or rejected.
  2. Format: Title all caps, author names bolded, and affiliations to include department/school, institution, city, country (no postal codes). If authors are from more than 1 institution, use numerical superscripts after each name and place the appropriate number before each institution (see the Abstract example ).
  3. Use subsections (Background, Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusions). Each subsection should be bolded and followed by a colon.
  4. Abstract should be written in US english.
  5. No tables, figures or bibliography/references should be included.
  6. Use of symbols is discouraged (if necessary, confirm correct symbol spelling it out in hard brackets, e.g. [alpha]).

Available Awards

Young Investigator Prizes

To qualify, the investigator must be in training (graduate or residency) or within 5 years of completion of training. Selections are made by a committee of three ISACP members (appointed by the board) who judge the qualified presentations and posters.

The young investigator must be the first author of the presentation or poster and must be at the Congress to present it.

  • The J Jerry Kaneko Prize — for best Oral Presentation by a Young Investigator ($300 and certificate).
  • The Eitan Bogin Prize — for best Poster Presentation by a Young Investigator award ($300 and certificate).

Travel Grants


Application for Travel Grants

  1. Competitive travel grants of $500 (domestic) or $1000 (international) will be available for eligible participants. (5-10 awards total)
  2. Travel grant applicants must have an abstract submitted and accepted for oral or poster presentation.
